ST-H3 Manual Torque Tester

Chuck Capper Hand Held Calibrating Unit Model: STH3

Sure Torque’s model STH3 Torque Meter is an electronic instrument used for calibrating individual chucking stations on chuck cappers by accurately measuring the torque produced by each head for the desired torque settings. This will allow you to calibrate all of your checking heads to the same setting for consistency of cap tightening. The STH3 is itself NIST traceable.
The STH3 is comprised of two main components, the hand held head testing unit and the integrated display unit. These components are permanently attached by the use of an expandable electronic cable.

The transducer utilizes an electronic strain gauge to measure very small amounts of changes as it is flexed or strained in either direction. The changes are displayed as measurable increases or decreases in electrical resistance. The STH3 has the ability to compensate over a wide range of temperatures.

The display unit contains a microprocessor that monitors and records the continuous and peak signals from the transducer. The continuous readings allow you to monitor your clutch slipping performance while the peak readings allow you to calibrate the capper’s chucking heads. These measurements are shown on a digital display and the peak is also available for output to a PC for analysis or to a serial printer through an RS232 serial port.

The STH3 is powered by rechargeable batteries therefore making it portable. A power supply is furnished to power the unit when used close to an electrical outlet. The power supply can also be used to recharge the batteries.
