This model is obsolete. Our latest inline cap tightener is the ST-INLINE.
For reference only, please find details of the obsolete model below.

Due to the stringent requirements for efficiency, accuracy and ergonomics in today’s packaging industry work place, Sure Torque, Inc. has developed the fully automatic On-Line Cap Tightener. Without an operator, the model STSHCT continually and accurately tightens up to 900 caps per hour, depending upon thread design and cap thread travel. The STSHCT has a unique design that allows production and/or quality control to preset torque tightening criteria directly in inch-pounds, and each container will be tightened to the preset target torque within an accuracy range of +/- 0.5 in-lb. Torque is controlled by the use of an electromagnetic particle clutch which is set through a digital readout.
Operation of the STSHCT is as simple as selecting the desired closure torque and pressing the start button. The system’s operation is fully automatic thereafter. During initial system set up, a selector switch allows manual selection and operation of all functions. Switch over from manual set up to automatic production operation requires actuation of a keyed selector switch; in this manner, unauthorized personnel are not allowed to change operational settings or switch the system’s operation from automatic mode.
The STSHCT incorporates an indexing star wheel with inner and outer guides which direct the containers with their cap into position for application of the capping torque by the capper chuck and collet mechanism. At this position, the container is positively clamped in the star wheel pocket, the chuck collet grips the cap, and capping torque is applied to the pre-selected set point within +/- 0.5 in-lb. Afterwards, the chuck stops rotating, the collet releases the cap and retracts, followed by the clamp releasing the container. With each index of the star wheel, a capped container having the preset capping torque applied is discharged back to the customer’s conveyor.
The STSHCT is ergonomically designed to eliminate container handling, clamping, and hand tightening, therefore avoiding the danger of CARPEL TUNNEL SYNDROME. The equipment is designed and constructed of components and materials which are proven for continuous production applications.
