This model is obsolete. Our latest inline torque tester is the ST-INLINE.
For reference only, please find details of the obsolete model below.

Due to the stringent requirements for efficiency, accuracy and ergonomics in today’s packaging industry workplace, Sure Torque, Inc. has developed the On-Line Torque Tester. The “Econo” model OL94-2 cap torque tester continually and accurately checks random container closure samples up to 480 per hour without an operator. The OL94-2 cap torque tester has a unique design that allows the production and quality control operator to preset torque criteria directly in “inch-pounds,” and each container entering the testing area will be evaluated based on this preset data.
The OL94-2 cap torque tester is ergonomically designed to eliminate container handling, clamping, and hand testing, therefore avoiding the danger of CARPAL TUNNEL SYNDROME. In conjunction with the non-destructive test mode as described below, the system also performs measurements for actual release torque to determine if “over-tightening” has occurred.
MINIMUM TORQUE EVALUATION
The real advantage of on-line testing is that non-destructive torque tests are performed on container closures without interrupting production. Each container that enters the test area is examined for the minimum accepted torque as preset by the operator. The OL94-2 cap torque tester allows closures that meet the set criteria to continue down line, unharmed by the test and ready for the next packaging operation. Containers not meeting criteria are immediately directed off-line. Alternatively, they can be retightened to spec. This insures individual product integrity quickly and without damaging the seal of each tested container.
RELEASE AND OVER-TORQUE TESTING
The OL94-2 cap torque tester also has the ability to test and display actual release torques. An alarm mode is preset by the operator when the unit is performing the over-torque tests, then each release torque is automatically compared to the maximum acceptable limit setting. A solid state output is provided for wiring to an “over-torque” alarm. This mode is ideal for setting capper criteria and assuring the end product’s integrity.
